The quiet community of Maple Ridge is in shock after a violent neighbourhood dispute left three people dead, including a married couple known for their kindness and strong ties to the area.

Police say the couple was found dead inside their home following an altercation with another man who lived nearby. That man, who investigators say was involved in the dispute, is also dead.

Neighbours have identified the victims as a friendly and caring couple who had lived in the area for several years. Their deaths have shaken the neighbourhood, where violence of this kind is extremely rare.

Authorities say the situation began as a disagreement between neighbours that quickly escalated. Emergency responders were called to the home shortly after reports of a disturbance were made. When officers arrived, they discovered the bodies of the couple and the third man.

Police confirmed that all three individuals were known to each other and that there is no ongoing threat to public safety. Investigators are not looking for additional suspects.

Forensic teams spent several hours at the scene, gathering evidence and speaking to witnesses. A statement from police said they are working to understand what caused the situation to turn deadly.

One neighbour described hearing loud voices and then silence before officers arrived. Others said they are struggling to come to terms with what happened so close to home.

The victims were known for their warm smiles, community spirit, and willingness to help others. One local resident said the couple often attended local events and volunteered for community activities.

Flowers and candles have been placed outside the family’s home as a sign of respect and mourning. Many in the community are still trying to understand how a dispute could end in such a heartbreaking loss.

Police have not yet shared the names of those involved, but say they are offering support to the family members and others impacted by the tragedy.

Community groups are also stepping in to help. A local grief counsellor has offered free support sessions to neighbours and friends. Plans are underway for a vigil to honour the couple and give people a space to mourn together.

City officials say they are saddened by the event and are working closely with police to provide any help needed. In a brief statement, they encouraged residents to look out for one another during this difficult time.

The investigation is still in its early stages, but police say early signs point to a personal conflict rather than a random act. They continue to ask anyone with information to come forward.

This tragedy has left a lasting impact on Maple Ridge. What began as a disagreement ended with three lives lost and a community grieving. As investigators search for answers, residents are leaning on each other for support and hoping such violence never strikes again.
