Kamloops United finished their League1 BC season with a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory over the TSS Rovers on Friday night, July 25, at Hillside Stadium. The result delivered a major shakeup in the title race and could crown a new champion later today.

The visiting TSS Rovers took the lead early, with Lowell Wright scoring just eight minutes into the match. But their hopes of sealing the title suffered a major blow when Avi Alemu received a red card in the 28th minute, forcing the team to play the rest of the game with ten men.

Despite going behind, Kamloops kept their composure. Lachlan Will scored the equalizer in the 23rd minute after a good team move, leveling the score and reigniting the home side’s momentum. They continued to apply pressure throughout the second half, and it finally paid off when Charlie Stewart netted the winning goal in the 84th minute, sealing all three points.

The win left TSS stranded at 32 points after 16 games. Langley United, who have 30 points from 15 matches, now have a chance to take the title in their very first League1 BC season. They play the Vancouver Whitecaps Academy Team at 3:00 p.m. today. A win will push them to 33 points, just enough to surpass TSS and claim the championship.

Kamloops United may have had no stake in the title race, but their spirited performance played a decisive role in its outcome. Coming from behind to beat a top team shows their strength and growth throughout the season. The red card changed the tone of the game, but Kamloops still needed to work hard to find the goals that made the difference.

For TSS Rovers, the defeat is a painful one. They were within reach of the title but now must wait and watch as Langley United takes the field. Only a loss or a draw from Langley can keep the trophy in TSS’s hands.

The pressure now shifts to Langley. With one game to go, the title is within their grasp. Thanks to Kamloops United’s determined performance, the 2025 League1 BC men’s season is set for a thrilling finish. Fans across the province are watching closely as the final chapter unfolds.

Kamloops ends their season on a high, proving they can compete with the league’s best. Their win may not bring them a trophy, but it brought plenty of drama to the title race and earned them a proud final moment in front of their supporters.
