Lynn Creek in North Vancouver is set to welcome its first full-service restaurant, filling a commercial space that has sat empty for years.

The space, located in the Compass building at Seylynn Village, was completed in 2018 but has never had a tenant. It was originally approved for office, retail, or take-out use only. Since 2022, the building owners have pushed to turn it into a sit-down dining spot.

When the plan went before the District of North Vancouver council in June, some residents raised concerns about traffic, odors, and rodents. However, council members showed strong support.

Councillor Jordan Back called the restaurant a perfect fit for the area, saying many people have moved in and are looking for local dining options.

On Monday, the council approved the plan without debate. The decision allows the owners to build a full restaurant, including extra washrooms, a full kitchen, and a mezzanine for more seating.

The restaurant will be the first in the neighborhood that offers a dine-in experience. Until now, Lynn Creek residents have had to leave the area for sit-down meals.

The restaurant will also help activate the ground floor of the Compass building and support nearby businesses. It is expected to become a community gathering spot.

The building owners have not yet announced the restaurant’s name or type of cuisine. Construction is expected to begin soon.

This move aligns with Lynn Creek Town Centre’s long-term plan to build a vibrant, walkable community with homes, shops, and services close together.

Locals say this is a welcome step toward making the neighborhood more complete.
